People

People are the most interesting subject to paint.  Unlike objects and scenery, people demand a more accurate level of representation in order for someone to except it. Not only is the accuracy important, but the essence of that person is also important to capture. Those are my thoughts of figurative work anyway.  I've been looking at a lot of Lucian Freud's work and researching him lately.  He was a very unsettling fellow, but an amazing painter.  He has been a great inspiration to me lately.  I think I'm going to be a bit obsessed with portraits and figurative work for a while. Who knows, that could end up being the mass of my work for this year.
