A wee bit nervous

So today i will be reading the picture book that I illustrated (Pull The Plug to be precise) written by Trista Michels at Chegwin Elementary School to read in front of the kindergarten and first grade classes.  Most people have no idea how hard it is for me to talk to talk in front of crowds.  People say," Don't worry, it's only some kids."  I don't care what age, it's hard for me.  On the same note I am also very excited to reach out to children at that age.  if I could inspire two children it's totally worth it.  Now that I have a little guy I really think about my early inspirations.  My first two inspirations I would have to say would be my mom and my sister Rayne.  I got the bug and never went back from there.  Now it's time to plant the bug in a few more little ones.  I'm going to have to thank my friend Amanda for setting me up with this once I've finished it and look back at it.  Wish me luck.
Also, if anybody would be interested in ordering PULLING THE PLUG this here is the link. Cheers.

We have a baby boy

My wife Hollie and I now have a little baby boy named Harvey.  when it really sank in that we were having a child I was of coarse scared, but really excited about having a child and what kind of inspirations he could bring to my art.  I also thought about the imagination of a child and how it could rekindle a little bit of my own inner child.  I remember sitting on the floor most of my childhood reading comic books and drawing crazy pictures all the time (that whole part is actually spot on now, except without the floor part).
I've been working on an adventure painting of our boy and dog (Larrabee). Below is an example of the first in a series of adventure paintings I want to make with Harvey and Larrabee.

This painting isn't done quite yet, but with it being 11"x8", it allows me to work on a lot of detail and be able to get it done with the time I have these days.
